Vetnil®, a Brazilian company in the veterinary sector and a partner to those who care for animals, has obtained LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a non-profit American organization that certifies sustainable buildings worldwide. This recognition was achieved after the completion of its new logistics center in Louveira, São Paulo state, designed from the outset to meet the highest standards of environmental and energy efficiency.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification is one of the most prestigious sustainability certifications worldwide, evaluating criteria such as energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, environmental comfort, and innovative building design. The Silver level demonstrates that the project adopts advanced sustainability practices, with a positive impact on the environment and the surrounding community.

“LEED certification reinforces our long-term vision and Vetnil®‘s firm commitment to responsible innovation. From the project’s inception, we sought to combine logistical efficiency and environmental awareness, and this certification confirms that we are on the right track,” emphasizes Luiz Antonio Miazzo, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of Vetnil®.

Key elements for achieving LEED Silver certification

With 4,883 m² of interior space and a capacity to store 10,200 pallets, the company’s logistics center was designed to offer operational efficiency, security, and sustainability. Among the solutions implemented are a photovoltaic plant with 1,080 solar panels, which generates some of the energy consumed; eight electric vehicle charging stations; a rainwater harvesting system with a capacity of 140,000 liters; a wastewater treatment plant; and interlocking cobblestone paving that promotes natural soil drainage and preserves native vegetation.

For Rogério de Oliveira Jorge, operations director of Vetnil®, this achievement symbolizes much more than a certification; it is a milestone in the company’s history. “Every decision in the project was designed to reduce environmental impact and ensure long-term efficiency. This achievement belongs to everyone who believes it is possible to grow while caring for the planet,” he says.

The new facility is part of Vetnil®‘s expansion strategy, which envisions a total of 25,000 square meters of built area and will include a new corporate headquarters, new production lines, and expanded laboratories and administrative areas.
