Designed exclusively for dogs, the medication stands out for being the only doxycycline for intravenous administration available in Brazil, offering an effective alternative in the treatment of infections caused by various gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

According to Kauê Ribeiro, Veterinarian and Technical Communication Coordinator at Vetnil®, doxycycline belongs to the tetracycline class and has important differentials. “It has superior pharmacokinetic characteristics to other antibiotics in the same class, which makes it easier to use and ensures greater safety in treatment,” he explains. “The injectable version, available in 20 mL vials, is an excellent option for veterinarians who need a fast and safe treatment for bacterial infections in dogs, especially in hospital settings and hospitalizations,” he adds.

In addition to the injectable version, Vetnil® also has in its product portfolio Doxycycline Vetnil Tablets, indicated for dogs and cats, with a veterinary prescription. Three presentations are available: boxes with 14 tablets of 25 mg, 50 mg or 100 mg of doxycycline.
